Shaza L. Andersen

Chief Executive Officer

Shaza L. Andersen is the Chief Executive Officer of WashingtonFirst Bank. In addition to her role as CEO, Ms. Andersen has served on the Board of Directors of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta, where she was Vice Chair of the Corporate Governance Committee and a member of the Housing Committee. She also serves on the board of Junior Achievement, Youth For Tomorrow, and is a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization. Prior to starting WashingtonFirst, Ms. Andersen served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Century National Bank, until Century was acquired by United Bank. Recently, Ms. Andersen founded the WashingtonFirst Youth Foundation, a local not-for-profit organization dedicated to enriching the physical, social and mental well-being of children in the Washington DC Metropolitan area. Ms. Andersen is sought out to provide her opinions and insights regarding banking and capital market matters. She is often quoted in the media, appearing on CNBC and Fox News. In addition, Ms. Andersen was honored as one of 2008’s Women Who Mean Business, by the Washington Business Journal.

Thomas Doughty serves as the International Director of Jones Lang LaSalle’s Law Firm Group. During his 24-year commercial real estate career, Mr. Doughty has been responsible for lease and purchase acquisitions, relocations and renegotiations on behalf of a number of law firms, associations and corporations across the United States. Representative major assignments over the last few years have included: Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP,Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP, Baker & McKenzie LLP, Dow Lohnes PLLC, Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP, Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP, Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP, Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal LLP, O’Melveny & Myers LLP, Fannie Mae and Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation. Mr. Doughty joined Jones Lang LaSalle in January of 2006 via the merger of Spaulding & Slye and Jones Lang LaSalle. Prior to joining Spaulding & Slye, Mr. Doughty was a Senior Vice President of the brokerage division with Barnes, Morris, Pardoe & Foster. He began his career as a litigator at the law firm of Parsons, Steffen & Moore in Norfolk, Virginia. In 1975, Mr. Doughty was appointed as a Special Agent of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and served in New York, San Francisco, and at FBI headquarters in Washington, DC. His headquarters service included several appointments as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney in various federal judicial districts.

Marty Janis is the President and CEO of Atlantic Services Group (Atlantic Parking – Atlantic Valet – Atlantic Transportation), a full service parking and transportation business in the Washington Metropolitan Area. Marty and his wife Leslie live in Potomac with their three children (Jordan, Daryn and Michael). In the community, Marty’s focus is in assisting the youth of the District where his work with the DC Foster Children as well as Training Grounds helps create opportunities and experiences for these underserved children and young adults. In his spare time, Marty loves the time he spends coaching his kids’ baseball and softball teams and enjoys training for triathlons and marathons.

Mike Manatos

He is a lifetime resident of Bethesda, Maryland and has been very involved in several charities and community organizations. He is on the Board of Directors of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Mid-Atlantic, an organization that fulfills the wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses in MD, DC, DE and northern VA. He has personally raised over $320,000 and granted the wishes of over 45 children, competing in the Foundation’s annual triathlon the last eleven years. He was selected to serve on the Development Committee of the See Forever Foundation in Washington, D.C., whose mission is to create learning environments in lower-income urban communities. He has three times been elected to the parish council of St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Bethesda, Maryland (a 925 family parish), and has twice served on the council’s executive committee. He was also chosen to chair the church’s stewardship committee in 1998, as well as its annual fundraiser in 2004 for which he helped raise a record $100,000. In his free time, he trains for and competes in triathlons, having raced in over 20, including one Ironman 70.3 triathlon.

He is founder and chairman of Montgomery County Friends of Recreation. He is also a member of the Board of Directors for the CORE Network, as well as a former board member of the Young Entrepreneurs Organization. Mr. Rittenberg is a member of the Bethesda-Chevy Chase and Silver Spring Chambers of Commerce and the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).

Reza Malek-Zadeh

Mr. Malek-Zadeh received BS and Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Kentucky in 1966 and worked for bridge designer in Frankfort, Ky. Returned to Iran in 1966 and built the first glass factory in the Middle East. Later, worked in the Project Department for the Industrial and Mining Development Bank of Iran. In 1970 earned Industrial Management degree from arvard University. Became the head of the Industrial Management Department in the Bank. Managed projects, and trouble shooting companies such as tea manufacturing, textile mill and national shipping line. Finally, became the President and CEO of Paper and Nylon industries and was unofficially the advisor to the Minister of Commerce and Prime Minister of Iran until 1979. Since the Revolution, Mr. Malek-Zadeh has been involved in various investment and real estate projects in this country.
