Shaza L. Andersen

Chief Executive Officer

Shaza L. Andersen is the Chief Executive Officer of WashingtonFirst Bank. In addition to her role as CEO, Ms. Andersen has served on the Board of Directors of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta, where she was Vice Chair of the Corporate Governance Committee and a member of the Housing Committee. She also serves on the board of Junior Achievement, Youth For Tomorrow, and is a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization. Prior to starting WashingtonFirst, Ms. Andersen served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Century National Bank, until Century was acquired by United Bank. Recently, Ms. Andersen founded the WashingtonFirst Youth Foundation, a local not-for-profit organization dedicated to enriching the physical, social and mental well-being of children in the Washington DC Metropolitan area. Ms. Andersen is sought out to provide her opinions and insights regarding banking and capital market matters. She is often quoted in the media, appearing on CNBC and Fox News. In addition, Ms. Andersen was honored as one of 2008’s Women Who Mean Business, by the Washington Business Journal.

Mr. Bracewell is a partner in the law firm of Bingham McCutchen LLP. From 2002 to 2009, he was a partner in the law firm of McKee Nelson LLP. Prior to that time, Mr. Bracewell was actively engaged in the banking business for thirty years in Houston, Texas and Washington, D.C. Most recently, Mr. Bracewell served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Century National Bank, Washington, D.C. and its holding company, Century Bancshares, Inc., from their inception in 1982 until they were acquired by United Bankshares, Inc. at the end of 2001. Mr. Bracewell served as a director of United Bankshares, Inc. and as Vice Chairman of its United Bank subsidiary from the time of the Century merger through January 2, 2003.

Mr. Connors has been in Commercial Banking for 26 Years, serving in executive management positions at Century National Bank and its successor, United Bank, between 1990 and 2004. Mr. Connors is currently on the Boards of Directors of The Entrepreneurs Institute, United Cerebral Palsy of Washington, DC and Northern Virginia, and the Center for Financial Training. Dr. Peyton also founded Med Tech Associates, LLC, a commercial property association in 1998, and currently serves as co-manager.
