Shaza L. Andersen

Chief Executive Officer

Shaza L. Andersen is the Chief Executive Officer of WashingtonFirst Bank. In addition to her role as CEO, Ms. Andersen has served on the Board of Directors of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta, where she was Vice Chair of the Corporate Governance Committee and a member of the Housing Committee. She also serves on the board of Junior Achievement, Youth For Tomorrow, and is a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization. Prior to starting WashingtonFirst, Ms. Andersen served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Century National Bank, until Century was acquired by United Bank. Recently, Ms. Andersen founded the WashingtonFirst Youth Foundation, a local not-for-profit organization dedicated to enriching the physical, social and mental well-being of children in the Washington DC Metropolitan area. Ms. Andersen is sought out to provide her opinions and insights regarding banking and capital market matters. She is often quoted in the media, appearing on CNBC and Fox News. In addition, Ms. Andersen was honored as one of 2008’s Women Who Mean Business, by the Washington Business Journal.

Mr. Bracewell is a partner in the law firm of Bingham McCutchen LLP. From 2002 to 2009, he was a partner in the law firm of McKee Nelson LLP. Prior to that time, Mr. Bracewell was actively engaged in the banking business for thirty years in Houston, Texas and Washington, D.C. Most recently, Mr. Bracewell served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Century National Bank, Washington, D.C. and its holding company, Century Bancshares, Inc., from their inception in 1982 until they were acquired by United Bankshares, Inc. at the end of 2001. Mr. Bracewell served as a director of United Bankshares, Inc. and as Vice Chairman of its United Bank subsidiary from the time of the Century merger through January 2, 2003.

George W. Connors, IV

Mr. Connors is the President and Chief Lending Officer of the Bank. Mr. Connors has been in Commercial Banking for 26 Years, serving in executive management positions at Century National Bank and its successor, United Bank, between 1990 and 2004. Mr. Connors is currently on the Boards of Directors of The Entrepreneurs Institute, United Cerebral Palsy of Washington, DC and Northern Virginia, and the Center for Financial Training. Mr. Connors currently serves on the faculty of the Center for Financial Training, and as Treasurer for United Cerebral Palsy and The Falls Church of Falls Church, VA.

Josephine S. Cooper

Ms. Cooper is Group Vice President for Toyota Motors of North America. Prior to joining Toyota in 2004, she served as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers, a trade association for the automobile industry, a position she held from 1999 to 2004. Prior to that time, she was Vice President for Regulatory Affairs for the American Forest and Paper Association. She is Chair of the Board of Directors of the Leland Urban Air Toxics Center, serves on the Board of National Capital Region Salvation Army, and is President of the Business-Government Relations Council.

Ms. Cope is the Assistant Rector of St. David's Episcopal Church. From 1994-2006, Ms. cope was Founder and President of the J. Naylor Cope Company in Washington, D.C., a nationally recognized executive recruiting firm. Prior to founding the J. Naylor Cope Company, Ms. Cope served as Deputy Director of Presidential Personnel in the White House for President George H.W. Bush. Dr. Goel received his Ph.D., in Environmental Engineering from Oklahoma State University in 1968. He also holds a Master’s degree in Business Management. He has a professional engineer license issued by the Delaware Association of Professional Engineers in 1968. He is a Diplomat of American Academy of Environmental Engineers. Dr. Goel served as the Director of the First Liberty National Bank from 1992 until its merger with WashingtonFirst in 2006.

Mr. Horn is founder and principal of Dale Builders LLC, a residential design and remodeling firm based in Potomac, Maryland. Prior to forming Dale Builders, Mr. Horn was a partner with the law firm of Bracewell Giuliani, LLP in Washington, DC practicing commercial and business litigation. Mr. Horn serves as the Bank's General Counsel.

John J. Mahoney

Since 1996 Mr. Mahoney has been President of Regional Title Incorporated. Prior to Regional Title, he served as Managing Partner for Transaction Associates (1995-96), Vice President and Director of Operations for First American Title Insurance Company, Mid Atlantic Region (1994-95), and as President of Attorneys Title Corporation (1977-94). Mr. Mahoney was past president of D.C. Land Title Association and past president of the Capitol Hill Merchants and Professionals Association (CHAMPS). Currently, Mr. Mahoney serves as a Trustee of the Federal City Council, a Trustee of Providence College in Rhode Island, a member of the D.C. Bar and a member of the Economics Club of Washington.

Mr. Mencia sold The Cube Corporation in March 2005. Currently Mr. Mencia serves as Chairman and CEO of a company that he acquired a controlling interest in 2002.The company was renamed Cubecorp and provides IT outsourcing services. Mr. Mencia also serves on the national Executive Board, and ALSAC-St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Mr. Meyers is also a Deacon and serves as Vice Chairman of the Foundation for the First Baptist Church of Alexandria, Virginia. Mr. Michael is founder and President of Occasions Caterers Inc., a full-service, off-premise catering firm, located in Washington, DC since 1986. He is also founder and President of Protocol Staffing Services LLC, a hospitality staffing service, formed in 1999. In addition, Mr. Muldoon is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of St. Mary's College of Maryland and since 1998 Mr. Muldoon has been Chairman of the U.S. Coast Guard's National Boating Safety Advisory Council. Dr.Peyton has been practicing orthopaedics in the Northern Virginia area since 1995. In January 1998, he started Arthritis & Sports Orthopaedics, located in Sterling, Virginia, and added Physical Therapy in 2005. Dr. Peyton is focused on the treatment of arthritis, sports injuries and problems of the hip, knee, and shoulder utilizing operative and non-operative techniques. Dr. Peyton is a pioneer in the field of joint replacement. He developed a tensor to allow more accurate placement of knee replacements. Also, Dr. Peyton has been instrumental in the evolution of the mini-hip replacement. Dr. Peyton implanted the world's first Biomet Microplasty stem in 2005, as well as the world's first lateralized version in 2007. In the field of sports medicin Dr. Peyton teaches other surgeons how to perform ACL reconstruction and has a keen interest in cartilage manipulation to delay the need for joint replacement. Dr. Peyton is a Board Certified member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS),the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS), and the Anthroscopy Association of North America (AANA). Dr. Peyton also founded Med Tech Associates, LLC, a commercial property association in 1998, and currently serves as co-manager.

General (Ret.) Johnnie E. Wilson

General Wilson is a retired 4-star, and is currently Vice President, Mission Logistics, HTSI. Previously, General Wilson served as the President and Chief Operating Officer of Dimensions International, Inc., an information technology company specializing in information integration. General Wilson's distinguished career in the U.S. Army culminated as Commanding General, US Army Material Command. During his career, General Wilson was selected to command the Ordnance Center and School responsible for the annual training and professional development of soldiers, NCOs and officers. He also had served as Army Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics, with responsibility for worldwide logistics.
